At Emmanuel, we follow the apostle's model of meeting together on the first day of the week for worship and fellowship. We believe this is a priority for us both out of joy and obedience (Hebrews 10:25).
What should you expect when you join us on a Sunday morning?
First, we have three parking stalls in our parking lot that are designated for guests. Of course, you can park wherever you want to, but we have set aside these spaces, which are close to the building, especially for you!
Second, when you enter through the front doors, you should expect a welcoming environment. We understand that every church thinks that they are a friendly church, but at Emmanuel we work hard to make everyone feel like part of the family, whether they have been attending for 40 years or it is their first time.
Third, you should expect the environment to be casual. There is no need to take out that old suit or Easter dress. Emmanuel is full of ordinary folks who come as they are. Yes, we revere God in His holiness, but we strive to do so in a casual atmosphere.
Fourth, you can grab a bulletin on the music stand in front of the worship service and find a seat.
Fifth, enjoy worshiping our Risen Savior with us. We usually have three to four songs at the beginning of each service. We intentionally choose music that is both theologically dense and musically interesting. Our sermons are what theologians call, "Expository," which is to say that the pastor takes a passage of Scripture and walks us through what God is telling us through the writer of that particular Scripture passage. After the sermon, we sing one more song and then are dismissed.
